Double Wedding Ring Frenzy!

The DWR weekend started with a visit from Victoria to the shop.

A little fabric purchasing was done. Can't wait to see what this will end up in!

On Saturday and Sunday a group of 21 quilter's set out to create a Wedding Ring Quilt with the wonderful and inspiring Victoria Findlay Wolfe at the historic House of the Seven Gables.

With her recently published book, Double Wedding Ring Quilts, Traditions Made Modern, by our sides for inspiration it wasn't to long before fabric was flying and endless possibilities started to emerge!

It was great watching the room become engulfed with everyone's fabrics, on the tables, walls and floor.   You could hear the joy that we all had when this fabric became an amazing work in progress.

We were all intent on learning how to sew those always dreaded curves, but with Victoria teaching us her three pin method we were all on our way to mastering flat, smooth curves!

And there was plenty of one on one with Victoria for inspiration and teaching.

Unfortunately, our time at the House of Seven Gables came to an end too soon. But we all left happy to have spent two days creating with our wonderful teacher and friend Victoria. And we all were happy to know that we can open our minds to "change one thing" and make beautiful quilts!
