No Goodbyes Just a BIG Thank You!

 15 Years, WOW
Leona!
Time flies when you enjoy every minute of it.
And that is just what I did when it came to MarketPlace Quilts.

Who would have known when Cindy and I opened at the Marketplace in Salem, when we were a year round business with no heat and a bathroom for the first year, that I would be lucky enough to build a successful quilt shop. A few moves along the way lead me to Front street and then to my favorite place, Gardner Cottage.
For that I am Thankful!

Ellen from Gardner. A wonderful quilter!
Each year brought new adventures, new quilting friends and endless hours of inspiration and creativity. Not to mention a little quilting therapy and support along the way. It never ceases to amaze me the loving, caring nature of quilters. I know first hand as I was treated with love and support anytime there was a bump in the road. I could not have made it to Gardner Cottage with out the tremendous support and hard work of my quilting and Salem community.
                                                     For that I am THANKFUL!

Laurie and gang!
I feel blessed that I have had the chance to work in an industry that is always changing. To see how the quality of fabrics has grown in the past 15 years, not to mention the number of fabric companies and pattern designers. There is certainly something for everyone! I feel so lucky to have met so many Quiltmakers who have come to the shop to share their talent with me and my customers.  The opportunity to meet other quilt shop owners that understood the importance of working together to encourage support for all brick and mortar shops.
For that I am THANKFUL!

Holly and her first quilt!

I mostly enjoyed the small shop setting I created. Bigger is not always better. It allowed me to invite folks in to a warm, cozy environment. I was able to reach my goal for creating a quilting relationship with all that entered. I am proud of the customer service I offered. I am especially happy that I got to teach new quilters and seasoned quilters along the way. And through it all I learned to be more creative and improve my quilting skills from all of you.
For that I am THANKFUL!

 Rachel, Avery and Shannon.
I also would like to thank Leona. Leona came to learn to quilt and soon became more than a quilter. She became my friend. Leona was there when I couldn't be. She was a tremendous help through my illness. Her talent as a quilter was such an asset to me and the shop.  We shared many happy moments that I will always treasure. Leona, you are the reason why I am THANKFULl!

These girls always kept me in stitches!! Ellie,
Maddie and Caroline. Love you all.

I want to thank all of you for supporting me these past 15 years. It would not have been possible without YOU. You are the reason why I am THANKFUL.

I love you all,
Maureen

On May 3rd, Laurie (MaryRose's Quilts and Treasures) and Leona threw us a great party. It was such a wonderful time to see everyone that could make it. It was not a time to say goodbye but a time to thank you all in person one last time at Gardner Cottage. We had such great goodies and and many hugs! I am Thankful to Laurie and Leona for taking the time to make it such an enjoyable day. Thank you to all who came, shared Show and Tell and gifted me with lovelies!
